what are restaurants in stoughton like

I will be in stoughton for long weekend and need to know about it. Also what are commuter trains like. do they take credit cards?

what are restaurants in stoughton like

Stoughton is (sorry Stoughton) a pretty ordinary suburb. it%26#39;s got areas with an industrial feel, more residential areas, and a wide range of income groups represented, like there are apartments, smaller homes, and homes with larger areas. It%26#39;s a fairly diverse suburb with lots of commercial activity, like loads of chain stores and such.

Someone correct me if I%26#39;m wrong, but I do not think you can use credit cards on the train. I think you need cash or pre-purchased passes/tickets. www.mbta.com has more info.. .

I%26#39;m not sure about restaurant recommendations. All the times I%26#39;ve been there, I%26#39;ve eaten at regular places, nothing amazing....someone else out there might have some suggetions on that.

Oh...and the commuter trains are pretty ordinary, just big trains, sort of like the Amtrak trains, with an engine on one end and big cars full of seats, some double-decker. They%26#39;re nice, go fast, give a good view of things, but they%26#39;re more expensive than the subway trains and run less frequently.

Thanks for the information, I am looking forward to being in Stoughton. Whats weather like in june. Here in Pa its hot.

The weather here isn%26#39;t much different than in Philly. June can be hot and humid, cool and dry, or freezing and rainy - depends on the day. Try accuweather.com for a forecast.

There are a ton of chain restaurants in Stoughton: Olive Garden, Outback, Longhorn, Smokey Bones, etc. Not many independent places, but there are some good bars. Rick%26#39;s Cafe (which is actually over the line a town called Randolph) is a nice place with very good food.

As a previous poster said, you can either pay cash once you%26#39;re on the commuter rail or use your credit card to buy a Charlie Card (pass) at the station before boarding.

Diva,

Thanks for the information. Do you know how long of a trip from Logan to stoughton is.? I priced taxis from airport to stoughton and was quoted 58.00 one way( too much, thought I%26#39;d rather take train)

How are hotels in Stoughton, are they safe?

$58 is about right for a taxi, but depending on traffic, it could be double that. You%26#39;d have to check the commuter rail schedule (www.mbta.com, then click on Commuter Rail and locate the Stoughton schedule) to see if it works with your arrival time. The commuter trains don%26#39;t run as frequently on the weekends.

You can take a taxi to South Station and catch the commuter rail there, or take the Silver Line from the airport to South Station.

Stoughton is a safe area. It%26#39;s a regular suburb with some industry to it. It%26#39;s even got a strip club! ;-)

You could also take logan express bus to Braintree ($11) and then flag a cab from there to stoughton.
