Planning a trip to Provincetown for July 4th holiday. Given that July 4th falls on a Wednesday, what is the best time to visit? Jue 28-July 4 or July 3-July 7. Any feedback greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I’ve been having exactly the same thought. It’s my guess that the period before the holiday is going to be less crowded. I’m planning on leaving on Friday at the crack of dawn and then driving out sometime on Wed. the 4th when everyone else (I hope) is driving on to the Cape with visions of fireworks and a long weekend in their head.
Still – I would think things are booked rather tight for that entire week so I’d make reservations ASAP. I usually plan on camping when I plan one of these last minute trips so I’m not at the mercy of whatever hotel or B%26amp;B happens to have a vacancy – if that’s not an option for you I’d book a hotel as quickly as you can.

If you are planning in leaving on June 28-July 4th the 28th falls on a Thursday so you won%26#39;t hit that much traffic coming in. Leaving might me another story. P-Town on the 4th gets very crowded such as the bars and restaurants. If you are planning in going to the bars expect a higher pay range to get in. Again..if you are leaving on a weekend it%26#39;s going to be a headache. If you haven%26#39;t gotten a place to stay...check out the John Randall House at johnrandallhouse.com. It is a GREAT B%26amp;B only a block away from Commercial Street, great breakfast and the hosts are magnificent.
