Edgartown Scavenger Hunt

Hello!

My sister and I have been given a very important task. We are making a list of items for a few families to search for while in Edgartown. Heres the deal, there are 3 families, parents and teenagers. One of the girls will be turning 17 while they are there, so they are having a birthday scavenger hunt.

They will split into 2 teams (boys vs girls), and have a few hours in the evening to gather as many items as possible.

They are very familiar with the area, and want to stay on foot, no cars or taxis or anything like that.

So, we are setting it up with some things that they need to actually bring back (ferry schedule, ticket stubs, rock shaped like a heart, shells, etc...), some things they will need to take digital pictures of (writing happy birthday in the sand, picture of the team with hats on in a store, picture of a street adress or gravestone from a certain date, or something like that)... and a few things they will need to buy (a budget will be included).

So... we are having a blast thinking of things, but also need some help from locals... maybe a historical clue, like the first house built, or an off the beaten path landmark or cool statue... or or or.... what are we missing? Also, the girl who is turning 17 is in a culinary program (pastry)... so maybe some tie in to that.... or 17 of something? Like 17 gummy sharks... or maybe even buying something with her name on it that they can find in the stores and she will actually like to keep later...

Also... are there any cemetaries IN Edgartown??? Anybody famous buried there??? Any funny places to have them find and take a picture of?

Thanks for any and all help!

There is a pretty big cemetary right down the street from the center. Not sure if there is anyone too famous in there, though there are some old graves. John Belushi is buried on the island, but that%26#39;s not near Edgartown
