Sunday night dinner help

My husband and I are trying to figure out where to have dinner Sunday night after attending a Red Sox game that afternoon. I%26#39;m thinking it might be best to pick somewhere that doesn%26#39;t require a reservation because of uncertainity of game ending times... weather... and our eating schedule that day....

We often go to the North End when we%26#39;re in town, so this time it might be fun to go somewhere else 鈥?somewhere we haven%26#39;t been to before.

Budget isn%26#39;t an issue, casual dress is best, as to food, beef, steak, chicken, pork are fine...no seafood.

Your rec%26#39;s are appreciated. Thanks.

Try the Elephant Walk on Beacon Street. You can walk there from Fenway, bu it doesn%26#39;t usually get an ';after Fenway'; crowd. They actually have a dual menu of French and Cambodian.

Sunday night dinner help

Hi,

In Kenmore Sq, there%26#39;s Eastern Standard, at the Hotel Commonwealth, which has excellent food. It might be a little bit crowded after a game, but I%26#39;ve eaten there and usually get seated quickly.

Further on Comm Ave, towards Back Bay, is my favorite Indian restaurant, India Quality House, which is one of the best in the area. I know you said beef/steak/chicken, etc...and they DO have that...just in a curry sauce :)

In the other direction, towards Brookline and Park Drive, is the Audobon Circle pub, which has excellent pub food/burgers, etc. It%26#39;s a couple of steps above the typical pub place, and I%26#39;ve always loved the food there.

In the Fenway, there%26#39;s a very nice BBQ place called the Linwood Grill. They have BBQ and American comfort food. It%26#39;s on Kilmarnock St. at Peterborough, just behind the Star Market.

Nice rec%26#39;s so far, I%26#39;ll check them out. Thanks!

Also, we aren%26#39;t limited to Kenmore Square, we are handy with the T (hubby and I both went to BU and lived in Brookline).

Hi,

Well then...in addition:

About a 5 minute walk from Packard%26#39;s Corner stop on the B line, is Camino Real, which is a Colombian restaurant (on Harvard St., between Comm Ave and Brighton Ave. If you like beef, this is the place. Colombian food is huge platters of meat, generally, with some plantains and rice. Very delicious and cheap. I%26#39;m assuming you know the area, since I%26#39;m also a BU alum ;)

About a 5 minute walk from the Brighton Ave stop on the B line (at the intersection of Brighton and Comm Ave, where it curves off), walk up Brighton Ave and you will find Green Field Brazilian rodizio restaurant. Maybe you%26#39;ve been to places like this, where they bring all you can eat meat on skewers to your table? They have excellent beef and pork, and the salad bar is quite nice too:

Another idea is in Brookline Village, about a 5 minute walk from the Brookline Village Green Line stop. It%26#39;s a Turkish restaurant called Brookline Family Restaurant. Fantastic homemade Turkish food, cheap, huge portions and delicious. It%26#39;s in a converted Pizzeria, so it%26#39;s VERY casual and they are open until 11pm, although they might close earlier on Sundays. It%26#39;s one of my favorite places to eat around here. If you want meat, DEFINITELY go for the Mixed Grill platter, which is what I end up getting usually.

Let me know if you decide on one of these, and what you thought...I always am a bit nervous recommending restaurants.

Voy,

Since budget isn%26#39;t an issue, how about Abe %26amp; Louie%26#39;s on Boylston? It%26#39;s a high-end steakhouse that somehow still remains casual.

A personal favorite is Laurel at 142 Berkeley Street (at Coloumbus) which borders The Back Bay and The South End....a short walk from The Marriott Copley. This is a casually elegant space with a varied menu. We frequent their Sunday Brunch and Monday night prix fixe dinner, being the frugal types that we are. You can check out the menu at laurelgrillandbar.com.

Wow,

Lots of great choices here! Thanks so much!!

Near Fenway Park, is Toscana Trattoria at 138 Jersey St (continuation of Yawkey Way across Boylston St.) if you want good italian, as well as an assortement of other restaurants on Peterborough St. (crosses Jersey), In Kenmore Sq. try Petite Robert Bistro for good french food (bourgeoise, not haute cuisine) at moderate prices.
