College tour

We are taking our daughter college touring in three weeks. We will be touring Havard and want to find an affordable place to stay. Is it better to stay in Boston or Cambridge? Where are some good interesting places to eat? We don%26#39;t care for chain restaurants or fast food. This is a 10 day multi city trip so cost is a huge factor.

Thanks

I understand your cost concerns, but it really does not make a big difference in cost whether you stay in Boston or Cambridge - BOTH are expensive. My preference is Boston, only because so many more of the places of interest are there. However, if you really want to save money on hotels, you%26#39;ll have to consider staying outside of the city (and I%26#39;m including Cambridge in that). This would mean either driving in and paying for parking or taking the ';T'; Subway or Commuter Rail lines in. Check the last week or so on this forum, as several people have asked about low cost rooms outside the city. Meanwhile, good luck!!

If you%26#39;ve not already done so, check out the Cambridge B%26amp;B/Inns section here at TA; some of the reader-favored small establishments might work for you %26amp; are not expensive:
