Fenway Park

Hi!! My husband and I (and our 2 year old son) are heading to Boston to catch a Red Sox game. We will be taking the Amtrak train in from New York. Any suggestions as to which train station to arrive? any ideas as to where to stay (preferably within walking distance to the stadium). We have never been to Boston and are trying to plan ahead in order to make it as easy as possible!!! Thanks.

Fenway Park

See if you can get off the Amtrak train at Back Bay Station. From there, you can walk a block or so to the Copley Green Line station and take that a few stops to Fenway Park. If your train doesn%26#39;t stop at Back Bay, you%26#39;d get off at South Station and take the red line to park Street and from there take the Green Line out to Fenway.

For hotels, you might want to consider any of the Back Bay/Copley Square hotels. There are lots of postings on these boards about which ones people like best.

Fenway Park

Boston is a very easy town to get around. The public transportation is very good. To get to Fenway you can get off at the Kenmore Square stop.

There are a lot of hotels in town, many close to subway stops. Where you stay will depend on your budget.

There are some good deals on Boston hotels on travelzoo.com (look for Boston under Other U.S. Cities %26amp; Canada).

Also, some of us use priceline and hotwire to get top rated hotels at a fraction of the cost.

If you are looking for two beds in your room, hotwire is a better option because priceline only guarantees bedding for two people.

So what are your travel dates, budget and preferences?

Some threads on point about priceline and hotwire:

I live part time just outside of Boston and part time in Hawaii.

You will LOVE Fenway park!

The answers on how to get the the park above are right on. No need to go into that any more. Transportation in Boson is very good.

Walking distance is relative, especially with a child. I like Hotel 140 at 140 Clarendon Street because of the location and price. It is near Copley Sq.

enjoy! Go Red Socks!

The Hotel Commonwealth is the perfect hotel to stay at if you%26#39;re taking in a Sox game. It%26#39;s located in Kenmore Square, a stones throw from Fenway. You must take a tour of Fenway while you%26#39;re here. Visit bostonredsox.com for all info.

We are going to be in Boston for one night only next week. Our budget is somewhere between $200 - $300 /night for a hotel. I would prefer to be within walking distance of the stadium (if it is safe) since we are going to a night game and don%26#39;t want to spend too much time fighting the crowds to get to public transportation (as we will have our 2 year old son with us). Just thought it might be easier to walk back to the hotel. Thanks for any ideas you might have!!

Hi there...have you got your tickets yet??? if not they may cost more than your hotel stay. We will be in Boston July 2nd staying for a 2nd time at the Eliot(walkin distance to the park). Trying to buy tickets for that night and so far can only find seats at 175.00 to 225.00 each!!!

Depending on what days you%26#39;re staying, the Hotel Commonwealth should fit into your budget.

The Fenway/Kenmore Square area is safe, especially after a Sox game--they%26#39;ll be 35,000 or so people as your escorts!

I like the Sheraton, Boston and the Back Bay Hilton for Red Sox games. Go to Hotwire.com, look for 3.5star hotels in the Back Bay and you will get one of these hotels.

Hope this helps!
