boston restaurants woman traveling alone

I will be in Boston on Business Saturday through Wednesday. I have dinner on my own Saturday and Sunday. Staying at the Courtyard Marriott on Exeter then over to the Four Seasons on Boylston for the remainder. Any suggestions of where to eat. Love seafood. Want to go where the locals go..... ambiance is not important. Love lobster rolls. (from Iowa - don%26#39;t get alot of that here). thanks

Stephanie%26#39;s on Newbury Street has very good lobster rolls. Its a nice place to eat and people watch. Exeter intersects with Newbury Street so it will be very easy to get to from your hotel. Plus Newbury has loads of shops so I think you could make a bit of an afternoon of it. (I would call ahead though for patio seating).

Other seafood places that are good are Atlantic Fish Company on Bolyston and Excelsior (for lobster pizza) on Boyslton Street. Another fun place to eat is Parrish Cafe on Boyslton Street - this is inexpensive with patio dining - but the interesting thing about this restaurant is that the entire menu is sandwiches by different (Boston) celebrity chefs.

These are all relatively well known restaurants and within easy walking distance of both hotels on a nice day. I am sure someone at the hotel could give you specific directions.

Enjoy your trip!

Hi,

Just be forewarned that there currently is a severe shortage of lobster, and many restaurants have either removed it from the menu, or are charging outrageous sums of money. So, just make sure you ask the price first, if it says ';Market'; on the menu, which it does many times.

As for lobster rolls, you should go to Neptune Oyster in the North End on Salem St. They are locally famous for their lobster rolls, which are the best you will find in Boston. They also have a good selection of other seafood dishes.

The South End is an eclectic neighborhood full of restaurants. It%26#39;s a short walk from your hotel. Try the Union Bar and Grille. unionrestaurant.com. Or you could walk through Back Bay and stop in at any restaurant that suits your style. Many of these spots will have nice outdoor patios to dine on.
