A return to college roots for Father's Day...

Hi all.....My sister and I are taking dear old dad to Boston for Father%26#39;s Day...I am a 1995 graduate of Boston University, and despite the Red Sox, I fell madly in love with the city which was the backdrop for the best four years of my life..unfortunately, I don%26#39;t get back nearly as often as I would like, and I know that anytime I do, things have changed in one way or another..as expected...anyways, years ago, we would always celebrate special occasions like parents weekend, with a meal at Rebecca%26#39;s Restaurant (not Cafe!) on Charles Street...a favorite of ours...seems to me it may have closed, as a search yielded nothing...any info? Also, any other recommendations for Sunday brunch in the Beacon Hill area??

Can%26#39;t wait to get back...thanks!

As a BU alum who graduated--ahem!--way before you :-) I just want to say, enjoy your visit! I%26#39;ll be interested in seeing what recommendations you get for a nice brunch since we hope to get to Boston soon.

Try the Paramount on Charles Street in Beacon Hill. Wonderful brunch.

Rebecca%26#39;s Restaurant, a staple of dining on Charles Street, succumbed to changing times and internal issues. This may have been right after you left. The Paramount, just up the street near Charles Street Supply, is probably your next best shot. Even that has changed over the years, its comfortable greasy spoon atmosphere having been cleaned up and gentrified. %26lt;sigh%26gt;

You might also want to check with the Holiday Inn/Government Center. They have spruced things up over the years, as has the whole Charles River Plaza area. I wouldn%26#39;t be surprised if they have a nice Fathers%26#39;s Day brunch planned in their restaurant. Cambridge Street has changed a lot since you were here; take a walk and see if something strikes you. A French bistro has moved in at the corner of Anderson and Cambridge, and an Asian fusion place called Ma Soba has been at the top of Cambridge near Bowdoin Square. It arrived in summer %26#39;95 if I recall correctly.

Thanks so much everybody! Will certainly look into the Paramount...
