My husband and I are planning a trip this summer from Madrid, Spain to New England. We would like to do a tour through New ENgland for 12-14 days with rental car. We would like you to help us make an interesting tour, what we shouldn%26#39;t miss and where to stay. We don%26#39;t need fancy hotels. B%26amp;B are fine or small hotels which are nice and clean. Or can you suggest us a tour operator we can contact and help us organise the trip. Thanks in advance for your help.

More details about our trip. Probably arriving at Bosoton on the 27 or 28th of July. 2 nights in Boston. THen 1 night in Hampton or Kenebunkport, Bar harbor, somewhere in White -Mountains 2 nights, Green Mountains 2 nights, Newport 1 night, Cape Cod 2 nights. More ort less like that adding perhaps 1 or 2 nights at suggested places by you.

That%26#39;s a lot of driving and moving around from place to place. I%26#39;m sure you also understand that the Maine and Cape Cod trips are completely in opposite directions.

May I may offer a couple of suggestions? Assuming you still want to do both a north and a south route, how about 3 nights (rather than 2) in Boston (you need to recover a little from your trip, too.)? Then to Maine and the White Mountains. Pick one place to stay for 3 nights and do day trips. Skip the Green Mountains. Don%26#39;t kill me, but ';mountains are mountains';. That adds a lot of driving and not much different scenery.

Then do Newport. It%26#39;s a long drive, since you have to go back through Boston and come out on the south side. One night there probably makes sense. Then do 3 nights in Cape Cod. Choose a central location like Harwich or Dennis and do day trips from there.

I think this will be a much more pleasant way to go with less stress and driving. How does it feel to you?
