Football games/baseball etc in October

Hi, Myself, husband and 2 boys age 12 and 9 will be going to Boston 25th October for about 6 days, are there any football games, baseball games etc that we could take the boys to see? When does the season finish. We are staying in the Midtown area. Also are there any true Irish Pubs/Clubs that allow children in, (not the plastic paddy ones.) Many thanks.

The baseball season will be over by then and football will be in full swing. The New England Patriots (American) football team plays in Foxboro, about 45 minutes southwest of the city, but are sold out for the season, so any tickets you would get would be rather expensive. Colleges, however, may offer a good opportuntity to see sporting events. There are many colleges in the Boston area, so that would seem your best choice. Harvard, Northeastern, BU, BC, just for starters...........

I can%26#39;t vouch for authenticity, but there are many Irish pubs in the Quincy Market and Fanueil Hall Area. I believe all allow children in.

Not sure what you mean by Midtown. Can you be more specific?

If you have any interest in Basketball or Ice Hockey, the Celtics and Bruins seasons should have started by then. The Celtics have a preseason home game on Oct 25th. The Bruins schedule isn%26#39;t posted yet, but they might have something during that time.
